What we're doing now:

  • Fundraising Events

We are currently organizing fundraisers for the fall of 2009. We hope to bring them to schools, stores, and community events. For more details of where we will be hosting our events or to find out how you can volunteer at one, email us and check back soon. If you have any ideas or suggestions please email us.

  • Student Internships

The Utila Children's Relief foundation is activily seeking university students from around the world to participate in the local educational system by developing curriculum and teaching.  Additionally, there is a huge demand for athletic programs within the educational system and at the community level. If you are interested in helping our cause and receiving college credits in the process, please click the link below to learn more.

What we're planning:

  • Infrastructure Projects

Our most ambitious undertaking is to improve Utila's infrastructure. Each year, foreign governments donate funds to the Honduran Federal Government for infrastructure projects.  The Honduran municipalities in turn petition the Federal Government to receive funds for projects within their jurisdiction.  This is where The Utila Children's Relief Foundation plans to help.

We will welcome professionals who are in fields like law, public works, architecture,  civil engineering, and marine biology to help the Utilan community.

We want to develop a system of law that encourages sustainable growth, improves the environment, and maintains the safety of the island's many tourists.  We also want to further develop: sewage treatment facilities, proper landfill management, and road systems that effectively handle rainwater runoff.

As the Foundation's budget grows, we will provide financial assistance to help defray the costs incurred by those individuals who wish to make an intellectual contribution to Utila.

Help. Teach. Hope.
